Hi, I am writing this review to tell u guys about clear aligners, I am sure not many have even heard of it. I have a lot of friends who got braces but the agony I saw them going through never gave me the courage to go for them. Also being someone who loves good food it was unthinkable for me to give it up for 1.5-2 years. Life is too short for that kind of sacrifice!
I happened to run into one of my dentist friends 2 yrs back in Inox Pune, we were just chatting around and she happened to tell me about invisible or clear aligners. I was a bit apprehensive initially but then thought I must at least check with some dentists and was recommended this Clearpath aligner trays by many.
Finally I gathered the courage to go to a dental clinic in KP which my friend referred me too and enquired for these Clearpath aligners.
She assured me further and showed me some of the power point presentations for her other patients. I am happy that I took an immediate decision to start the treatment the same day. I received my aligners about a month later and started my 9 month long Clearpath journey! The aligners were tight when I initially wore them but the pain used to go away within 3-5 hours everytime I put on a new aligner. But believe me no one can even notice I am wearing these super clear braces (or aligners as they call them), for the first 2-3 days even my pals didn’t notice it, then I removed them and showed them this wonderful appliance I am wearing.
I did not have to give up the food I was so fond off and never again had to cover my mouth when I smiled or laughed which was a habit I acquired over the years. I stuck to the treatment diligently and in 9 months I had the well aligned teeth with no gaps remaining. I continued wearing the last aligner for another two months and then started wearing my retainers only at night, this first retention phase ended in July 14. Then my dentist gave me a wire behind my teeth to keep them in the position which is not at all visible and keeps my teeth in the same place.
I am quite happy with my smile now and wish this option was there when I was younger. I travel a lot so could find time to post my experience after such a long delay :)
